It features a close ratio gearbox to make changing gears easy with no lag. Although consider this when racing motor. Further if this is going into a street bike such as a Z50 and you are after top speed. The gearing will have to be adjusted. This can easily be done by going a larger front sprocket or a smaller rear. The transmission is 4-up manual (N-1-2-3-4) and is kick start in any gear with the clutch pulled in.
What is important to note about the HO or the V2 motor is its 6 Plate clutch with Daytona style Clutch basket and the integration of the oil filter. These are the give-aways to tell this motor apart from its predecessors.
